Bavaria Yachts Acquires Dufour and Grand Soleil

High-volume German boat builder, Bavaria Yachts has recently acquired the Cantiere del Pardo Group, builders of Grand Soleil and Dufour Yachts. According to published reports, part of the deal involves Bavaria immediately contributing the capital needed to support the business of the Cantiere del Pardo Group while the bankers work to restructure existing balance sheet debt. In the meantime Grand Soleil, Dufour, and Bavaria will continue to operate as three distinct brands built in their representative factories and sold through their current dealer networks.

Eric Macklin, North American Representative for Dufour Yachts says this about the deal: “It’s great news for American sailors! North America is a key growth opportunity for the entire group and we are expecting additional support resources to continue expanding our market share. Customers here will benefit by having easier access to a wider range of high quality product choices. Our vision is for a more diversified marketplace that offers legitimate alternatives to the narrow range of models now available here in the US.”
