Dufour 405: A Mini Review

Carol Vernon reviews this solid cruising boat for the CW 2010 Sailboat Show

Sep 17, 2009
By Carol Vernon (More articles by this author)

On the heels of success in last year's BOTY competition, Dufour is back with another solid cruising boat. With genoa winches with reach of the helm and all controls led aft she is well suited for short handed sailing yet has a large cockpit that can handle a crowd with excellent access between the twin wheels to the drop down transom/bathing platform. Below, the two cabin version has the galley abeam the companionway with a huge storage locker aft and seating opposite the salon table. The three cabin version moves the galley forward, allowing for three generous double bunks.
