Dufour 525 Grand' Large : Mini Review

With this boat, Dufour appears to have broken step with its distinction between its Performance line and its Grand' Large line of boats tilted more to the cruiser with less sail and more amenities. The 525 is the latter in name, but the T-bulb (albeit on a shallowish keel) and retractable sprit look more like accoutrements with more appeal to the round-the bouys brigade than to the fans of bays and beaches, not that the latter won't enjoy the ability to easily fly an asymmetrical.

Dufour has taken another adventurous step in offering layout variations in which customers pick from a veritable smorgasboard of modules—in-line galley or tucked-away ell, island-berth master cabin or two doubles forward.

The deck profile, too, has evolved, taking advantage of dimensional liberties offered by its length to end the cabin trunk at the mast and create a flush deck of luxurious proportions forward
