Grand Soleil 54: A Mini Review

Carol Vernon reviews this distinctly Italian design for the CW 2010 Sailboat Show

Sep 16, 2009
By Carol Vernon (More articles by this author)

Not quite as stark as Luca Brenta's Wally designs, this boat is unmistakably Italian, plenty sleek, and yet it's still a good all around cruiser. A dodger and tender are typical cruising gear, but on this boat they disappear from sight when not needed, keeping that clean look. Below are three cabins each with private heads, a large settee that converts into a double bunk, and room in the forepeak for a crew bunk. There is extensive woodwork though out, yet styling is open and somewhat minimalist.
