Jeanneau Sunfast 3200: A Mini Review
Jeremy McGeary reviews this cruiser designed from a racer for the CW 2009 Sailboat Show

Designed specifically for ocean racing—and adopted by the organizers of the Transquadra which runs from France via Madeira to Martinique—the Jeanneau SunFast 3200 not only sports the broad, shallow hull form of Open Class racing boats, it also has the twin rudders and twin tillers they favor. Maximum beam begins about 60 percent aft of the stem and extends to the transom, and the resulting sled hull is driven by a mainsail-heavy rig that flies masthead asymmetricals off a short sprit.

Crew accommodations are simple. Two double cabins with mattresses split for lee cloths are aft, under the cockpit. A nav station is to port, compact galley to starboard and the saloon has two berth-length settees parallel with the centerline. The head compartment is forward.

Although, or perhaps because, it's set up for racing, the Sun Fast 3200 could be easily handled by a small crew looking for a coastal cruiser with some pep.
