Morris 45 : Mini Review
Cruising World 2008 New Boat Showcase
Sep 13, 2007 By Jeremy McGeary (More articles by this author)
A close sister to the Chuck Paine-designed Firefly, which Cuyler Morris and family raced to a class victory at Antigua Sailing Week last May, the Morris 45 is optimized for sailors who want to be able to go anywhere and post high days' runs along the way. Brimming with typical Morris appointments, it will turn heads wherever it goes. A split-level sole takes full advantage of the headroom under the raised cabin trunk, while the warm-finished joinerwork basks in the light that pours through the stylish, bent-glass windows. Of course, being a Morris, exactly how the details of the interior layout pan out is a matter for the customer to discuss with the builder and designer. That the Morris 45 will sail up to its reputation is not in doubt.
