Sunsail 44: A Mini Review
Jeremy McGeary reviews this charter cruiser for the CW 2009 Sailboat Show

Aug 27, 2008

The Sunsail 44 rounds out the range of Jeanneau-built models with which Sunsail is refreshing its bareboat charter fleet. It's offered with a choice of two interiors to suit different charter-party make-ups. Two sleeping cabins are aft. The three-cabin, three-head version, in which a one cabin with an ensuite head is fitted forward, would suit groups of friends. The four-cabin, two-head arrangement, with two cabins and no head forward, would house a large family.

In the saloon, which is well lit by hatches and deadlights in both hull and cabin-trunk, a shallow-U dining area and small desk face the portside in-line galley.

In the cockpit, the now customary twin-helm configuration flanks a large centerline table, and the "porch" leading to the companionway allows a mainsail trimmer to work at the winches without disturbing recumbent passengers.
A bow thruster is standard, there to assist in tricky marina maneuvers, and an electric windass and double bow rollers help smooth the serious business of anchoring.
