Whether you own a Racing Yacht or Family Cruiser, let us be your choice too. Established in 1975, we are one of the largest independently owned marine chandleries in New England. Our experienced staff have dedicated much of their working careers to the marine industry. We specialize in providing all the specialty gear you need. If we don’t have an item in stock, we can usually special order it, and have it the next day.

The rigging shop has the largest selection of New England ropes in the area. Our rope work can be found on every boat from dingy racers, cruisers, one design, to the most competitive grand prix racers. We also provide expert lifeline replacement and repair at affordable prices.

The Ship’s Store annex located at One Bowen’s Landing in downtown Newport has all the same services that the main store in Portsmouth has to offer and we do daily deliveries from the main store to ensure that we are fully stocked. There is also a free dinghy dock outside of the store which is great for those cruising in and around Newport Harbor. Newport is home of our in-harbor rigging services, with our service boat we are able to offer onsite rigging services, weather it is a halyard replacement to roller furling repair and replacement.

Another unique aspect of our business is a well stocked "Consignment Shop" on our second floor next door to our Rigging Shop. It is well worth the visit to see. It is overflowing with a tremendous selection of used gear and new/surplus gear sent to us from our distributors and manufacturers. Some of the bargains to be found in this shop are unbelievable.
