Independent judges from Cruising World, Sailing World, and Motorboating magazine will be participating in the Newport for New Products Awards at the Newport International Boatshow (September 17-20) again this year. The contest recognizes the best new boat (sail and power) and the best new product to be introduced at the show, and due to the high volume of products that have entered in the past, the categories have been expanded. In addition to determining the overall winner of each of the main categories, judges will pick the best boat (power and sail) under 30 feet and over 30 feet. The product category will also single out the best new product launches in everything from engines and navigation devices, to lighting and safety equipment. To be eligible, the boat or product must have been introduced between April and September prior to the show and make its official debut at Newport.
