Pacific Northwest for Nature Lovers
Enjoy sailing among the orcas and through deep water channels in the densely forested Northwest. September 9-17, 2011
Pine-studded islands, headlands carved by glaciers, and 250 days a year of sunshine await as you set sail from Anacortes, Washington, and head out to explore the fabled San Juan Islands. Navigation is straightforward as you pass through narrow, deep-water channels between the forested slopes of adjacent isles, marvel at orcas swimming off the bow, watch eagles soar as the wind fills the sails, and drop anchor in secluded coves that haven’t changed since the 1700s. Many islands are uninhabited; others offer the amenities of small, historic towns with numerous opportunities to explore and dine ashore. Our eight-day Anacortes Yacht Charter aboard 32- to 50-footers includes hotel and welcome dinner, starter provisions, guides Peter and Carol King taking care of your needs, and CW staff.
