2. As you remove the drum, the only small pieces you’ll find easy to lose are the pawl springs and the pawls; keep spares on hand. If the pawls are at all worn, they should be replaced. The stainless-steel needle bearings on which the winch turns are contained in the black plastic and stay together when you pull the plastic off the shaft.
