Seattle Hosts Superyacht Showcase during Fleet of Dreams
Big, bold, and beautiful "superyachts," along with a collection of motor cruisers and sailboats, take center stage at the 2002 Seattle Fleet of Dreams, May 16-19, at Seattles Chandlers Cove. With an armada of new and classic craft on display, the Fleet of Dreams is the largest luxury boat show on the West Coast. The four-day show includes the unique Superyacht Showcase, featuring luxury craft 65 feet LOA and over with a minimum price tag of $1.5 million.
Complimenting the on-the-water display is the Builders Pavilion, featuring shoreside displays by top luxury boatbuilders. A sampling of the new and previously-owned brokerage luxury power yachts, recreational trawlers and sailboats include:
—A spectacular 75-foot Nordland and 70-foot Hatteras, both from Seattles Emerald Pacific Brokers.
—The elegant 76-foot LeClercq and the stunning 68-foot Queenship Admiralty, both from The Crows Nest Yacht & Ship Brokerage in Seattle.
—The debut of the new 68-foot Monte Fino, which was designed specifically for the West Coast market by Seattles Monte Fino-West.
—Two superyachts from Ocean Alexander, including the Ocean Alexander 64-foot pilot-house "Special Edition" and the Ocean Alexander 60-foot Mark I.
—A classic Fleming 55 from Chuck Hovey Yachts.
—Several boats from La Conners Pacific Trawlers, including the all-new Pacific Trawler 40-S.
The Builders Pavilion provides another marketing platform for yacht builders to showcase their latest work through photo displays and discuss construction options with attendees. A variety of vendors will also be displaying the latest innovations in electronics, nautical accessories, clothing, and other products that compliment the luxury boat market.
The Seattle Fleet of Dreams is produced by The Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, which has staged major on-the-water boat shows in Seattle for 25 years. "Superyacht builders and dealers have recognized the importance of this event as a showcase for customers up and down the West Coast," said Jeffrey Briggs, executive director of the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association.
The 2002 Fleet of Dreams opens to the general public on May 16 and runs through May 19, 2002. Show hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A $10 ticket gives attendees access to the "main fleet" of luxury power yachts and sailboats in the Fleet of Dreams; a $40 "boarding pass" allows full access to the entire show, including the Superyacht Showcase and Builders Pavilion, for all four days.
The show will feature a private "Preview Day" on Wednesday, May 15. Brokers will provide passes for preferred customers or tickets can be purchased at the gate on that day for $50. Topping off the "Preview Day" will be a unique private gala recognizing top donors from the Seattle Aquarium Society, The Museum of Flight and the University of Washingtons College of Oceans.
