Repowering Seaductress

After years of messing with the 28hp Volvo 2003 on Seaductress, we are again contemplating a repower. I had always heard that Betas were a third the cost of others, but strangely the quotes I'm getting now show the Beta 30 as the most expensive! We're also considering the 30hp Yanmar but (again, strangely) that company has been very difficult--hard to get a quote, can't deliver an engine for months, offices that close at Noon on Fridays, etc! The other choice is a Universal 35hp that looks like it would be a good fit.

Yikes! Whatever we do, it's going to cost a small fortune.
