Hank Keene Announces his Retirement from Edson

Edson has been co-owned by Hank and brother, Will Keene, for the past twenty-five years, since their purchase of the company in 1989.

Hank Keene, Co-owner and General Manager of Edson International, has announced his retirement, effective March 25, 2014, as the effects of Parkinson’s Disease no longer allow him to continue in his position. Hank has given his heart and soul to Edson over the past thirty-eight years. He enjoyed his long term relationships with customers and suppliers, making many friends throughout the Marine Industry during his tenure. Hank’s management style has endeared him to his long-standing and devoted employees. Helping to design, engineer, and manufacture the Edson world-class product line made him most proud.

Hank Keene has also served on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association since 1979, and was President from 1992 to 1994. He will continue to hold this position on the Board of Directors. Hank has also been involved at various levels with the New Bedford Industrial Foundation for the past 30 years.

Edson International, founded in 1859, manufactures an extensive line of marine steering systems, wheels, accessories, boat davits, electronic towers, radar mounts and marine pumps for sail and powerboats. Edson has been co-owned by Hank and brother, Will Keene, for the past twenty-five years, since their purchase of the company in 1989.
