HOLBY MARINE INTRODUCES NEW QUEST 40 PERFORMANCE SPORT SAILING YACHT
Bristol, Rhode Island - Holby Marine Company is proud to announce the latest edition to its Quest line of sailboats designed by Rodger Martin. As the big sister to the cutting-edge racing/cruising Quest 33 and 33S, she widens the range of capabilities already known to the 33. The Quest 40, with an LOA of 40 and an LWL of 36.5, features a keel-stepped mast with a 7/8 fractional rig, a non-overlapping 105% jib, and a bulb keel with a cruising draft of 5.9 or a racing draft of 7.9. Adding to the fast and fun sailing is a fully battened mainsail and retractable sprit pole.
The ergonomically designed deck layout, with recessed roller furling, recessed halyard and reefing lines, and asymmetrical spinnaker control lines makes the Quest 40 easy to sail. The roomier comforts below deck match the quality of the high-performance racing hardware above deck. Sleeping for six adults, including two staterooms, a nav station, and full galley will make the Quest 40 the ultimate sailing machine whether it be full-crewed racing or long distance short-handed cruising. With all lines led aft, she is easily handled by the cruising couple who prefer a roomier boat, or by the racing single-hander.
The Scrimp resin-infused hull, which displaces 12,7501bs, will give the boat extraordinary sailing characteristics, handling, and strength. This lightweight strength also contributes to the roominess down below. The 40 has the feeling of a much larger boat. The extended, open stern lends to the Quest 40s good looks and facilitates swimming and boarding from a dinghy. From its spacious cockpit, the Quest 40 will not only be fast, strong, and a comfortable performance/cruiser to sail, but an ultimate joy.
