In Vava'u, fishing boats are also the freighters and the water taxis. On Fridays, islanders come home from the "mainland," Neiafu, as do the older children, who spend the week in town going to school.

Tonga and Tongans could not be more welcoming to visiting sailors.

Well, I'm off to catch a long flight to the other side of the world. The plan is to do some cruising with friends in Tonga and then head over to Australia to check out the boat building industry over there.
