Share Your Holiday Traditions With Cruising World

"People & Food Online" from our November 2006 CW Reckonings.
by Kitty Martin

Although our pumpkins are still on the porch and we're still picking away at Halloween candy stashes, we can't deny that the holidays are fast approaching. Soon, we shore-based folk will become over-fed, over-served, and over-shopped- harried, frazzled, demented consumers. Now that's something to look forward to!

Oh, to be at sea during this hectic time of year. Far-removed from plastic Santas, tinsel, and malls, cruisers enjoy a decidedly different holiday-or at least, we'd like to think so. If you'll be celebrating at sea this year, Cruising World wants to know how you do it. Email us your galley-friendly holiday recipes and onboard holiday traditions; we'll feature them in "People & Food Online" next month.

Or, if this is your first holiday season aboard or you're just (sugar) plumb out of ideas, explore the "People & Food Online" section where you'll find recipes such as:

  • Pumpkin Soup
  • Lobster Spaghetti
  • Cranberry Chutney
  • Sausage Stuffing
  • Vino Navegador (hot mulled wine)
  • Balaena's Panforte- a decadent pièce de résistance made with chocolate, nuts, and fruit.

Drop us a line soon.
