Without Women Sailors, This Show Can't Go On

For the second year, Cruising World's
Boat of the Year (BOTY) judging panel seeks to add the perspective of a
female sailor to help select the winning boats in the annual
competition. So we're inviting all women cruising sailors to
enter our annual essay contest. To be eligible, you must have owned or
co-owned at least two auxiliary cruising boats and sailed at least one
overnight passage of 100 miles or more.
To enter, send a brief
description of your sailing experience and no more than two essays of
between 500 and 1,000 words, each one critically evaluating a boat
you've owned or co-owned. The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid
trip to Annapolis, Maryland, for 10 days of sailing and critiquing new
sailboats; runners-up may have their essays selected and purchased for
our regular Classic Plastic column. Send or e-mail your entry by July
31 to BOTY Essay Contest, c/o Cruising World (55 Hammarlund Way,
Middletown, RI 02842; e-mail BOTYjudge@cruisingworld.com).
