Hanse 630e: A Mini Review
Billy Black
On the Hanse 630e, flush-mounted hatches, an integral track for the self-tacking jib, and control lines led under the deck to winches aft keep the deck clear and free of clutter.

With a rig towering 102' above the water and the optional lifting, deep draft keel, this boat could comfortably cruise the world and humble a few racing boats along the way. The new flagship of the Hanse fleet is designed by Judel/Vrolijk and has a sleek and racy look like the smaller models. The brochure shows four interior layouts that range from 3 king sized bunks to 9 single bunks, and undoubtedly more cabin combinations are available. A 99% self tacking jib is standard and will allow a couple to short tack up channels with ease. Even the optional 105% genoa shouldn't tax the crew although the 3,078 sq ft gennaker might require extra hands.
