Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i: Mini Review

Cruising World 2008 New Boat Showcase
by Jeremy McGeary

Jeanneau continues to revamp its product line with this addition to its "i" series of Sun Odyssey cruisers. The 36i is just big enough to fit two double cabins and the necessary amenities comfortably and just small enough the builder didn't feel compelled to squeeze in a second head, although a third cabin is an option.

In profile, the superstructure retains the characteristic Jeanneau "look" but expressed with slightly more pronounced curves set off by a balanced sheerline that sweeps to a chiseled stem.

Jeanneau offers a "Performance" version of the 36i with a deeper keel, taller rig and a commensurate upgrade in the standing rigging.
