The second model offered by Hanse in its updated “e” series is the 470e, which shows off well the crisp deck styling and gets a real big-boat look with its flush foredeck. Anchoring gear is tucked under a hatch in the foredeck to keep it from spoiling the lines, and from snagging on lines, not that there are many for it to tangle with-the sole foresail is a self-tacking jib.
Twin wheels set the tone for the cockpit, where all control lines lead under the deck to port and starboard winches. A channel molded onto the coachroof around the companionway opening houses the folded-down dodger.
With lots of volume to fill, the “Individual Cabin Concept” system of interior modules offers a variety of ways to compose living quarters to suit a slew of preferences.
