Pardeys, Van Liew Head Annapolis Boat Show Seminars Lineup
Diverse topics abound at the annual CW speaker series
Get storm survival tips from veteran bluewater cruisers Lin and Larry Pardey, learn lessons for shorthanding voyaging from top singlehanded racer Brad Van Liew, and hear the plans of award-winning brother-sister duo Zach and Paige Railey to take the gold at the 2012 Olympics.
These are just a few of the topics and speakers on hand at the annual U.S. Sailboat Show Seminars on Sailing presented by Cruising World magazine October 6 through 10, 2011, in Annapolis, Maryland.
Also in the lineup are two weekend morning panel discussions whose topics—laying plans for long-term passagemaking and what to look for when buying a new boat—will be handled by sailors with firsthand experience, from regular contributing authors Liza Copeland and Wendy Mitman Clarke to the 2012 CW Boat of the Year judges. Question and answer sessions will allow attendants to participate in each.
The successful and well-attended series, sponsored by the Coast Guard Foundation, is free of charge, though wristbands are required for admission. Seating is limited to first come, first served, so arrive early.
