On the heels of its merger with Annapolis Bay Charters, Dream Yacht Charter used the bustling setting of the Paris Boat Show in December 2010 to announce its acquisition of Vernicos Yacht Charters, located in Greece and Turkey. The move, which strengthens Dream Yacht Charter’s presence in the Med, means that the company has 400 yachts in 29 locations around the world.
With more bases added in Greece as well as in other locations—the British Virgin Islands, Sint Maarten, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, the Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Australia, the Côte d’Azur, Corsica, Sicily, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, and Annapolis, Maryland—Dream Yacht Charter is now one of the largest charter companies in the world.

Moorings Adds Lavrion in Greece
The Moorings has added a base in Lavrion, Greece, near Athens, and is taking reservations for charters starting in June 2011. The fleet will consist of 39- to 50-foot custom-built monohulls and catamarans from world-class yacht builders Beneteau and Robertson and Caine. The new base joins three existing Moorings bases in Greece, at Kalamaki, Kos, and Lefkas.
Lavrion is located on the southern tip of Greece along the eastern coast, giving charter guests a variety of itinerary options for sailing through the Saronic Gulf and Aegean Sea to experience the culture and history of the Saronic, Cyclades, and Sporades islands. The base, located near Athens International Airport, is only an hour’s drive from the center of Athens.

One- and two-week itineraries are available in the cruising grounds; the waters of the Saronic Gulf offer shorter passages, less wind, and waters that are well-protected. Caribbean Airport Upgrades Standards
The Virgin Gorda International Airport, in the British Virgin Islands, closed for nearly a year so the facility could comply with the United Kingdom’s international civil-aviation safety regulations, reopened in December 2010 and is accepting flights through the 2011 tourist season. Virgin Gorda International Airport is served by such airlines as Air Sunshine, Fly BVI, and Island Birds as well as by chartered and private aircraft.
