from daveinthemed on 12.16.12We live on our Jeanneau 42i in the Med. Part of our crew is a 1.5 year old Maltese/ Beshon named Bonaparte. He is a great sailor, but he has been aboard since he was 3 months old.
We do not have netting on the life lines. He has a harness and life jacket, but like us rarely wears it.

It presents as thick slime and looks like an gunky black, yellow green (no not a novelty one) used condom stuck onto the end of the fuel feed pipe, where it sits in the bottom of the tank. It will block the flow and does starve the engine of fuel.
