I am a cruising sailor dedicated to the free life afloat. My specific interest is best described as "adventure sailing" with a focus not just on our vessel and sailing itself, but the lands we visit and the people we meet. We are especially attracted to wilderness destinations, indigenous tribes, and wildlife encounters. These interests led me on a 13-year circumnavigation via Cape Horn, expeditions to the high Arctic, New World jungles, African deserts and, most recently, on a 3 1/2 year Pacific Rim Voyage originating and ending in New Zealand.

About My Boat: 

A hard chine steel cutter with semi-flush decks. Deep moderate fin keel with a skeg and a transom hung rudder. Tiller steering. It is notable for its wide beam, low profile and utilitarian simplicity. It shows a good turn of speed having recorded many noon-to-noon runs in the 160s and 170s. With the high aspect rig and relatively tight sheeting angles it is somewhat weatherly but wet when hard on the wind. It has been designed for and tested in very tough conditions and I have total faith in it.
