A few days ago, my friend from Cape Town sent me this picture with a short message at the back: “This is Cape Town.”
Cape Town is one of the best locations in the world for sailing adventures. With exquisite beaches, stunning, scenic coastlines, this is a typical sailor’s paradise.
Picture yourself relaxing on a boat or marvelling at the Table Mountain. This place has a lot to offer.
In the heart of Cape Town harbour is located the Royal Cape Yacht Club, also known as the tavern of the sea. Graced by the Limietberg Mountain is the Vogelvlei Yacht Club. Situated in a bird sanctuary, this yacht club offers the best of water sport event known as: “Tour de Vlei”.
Every year, Cape Town hosts several tournaments. Some of the well-known are: “ the Berg River Canoe Marathon, the Two Oceans Marathon, the Cape Argus Pick’n Pay Cycle Tour and the ABSA Cape Epic.”
With the adventure – filled Atlantic Ocean a step away, Cape Town is perfectly located for a great sailing experience. The cool thing about sailing in the mother city is that it’s not a single – route sailing haven. You could experience the beautiful V&A Waterfront, heat out to Robben Island or simply journey up to Saldahna in the west.
With Table Mountain and Cape Point in the vicinity, there’s plenty of sightseeing. The whales in the ocean make the experience a lot more exciting.
The weather in Cape Town is extremely moderate. Temperatures even in the middle of winter, seldom drop below 10 degrees and in summer, seldom rise above 32 degrees.
The town of Hermanus, famous for its whale watching, enjoys a completely different climate with far less wind but rain showers throughout the year, particularly in the winter months.
Unleash the Jack Sparrow inside you. Come to Cape Town for an unforgettable sailing experience.
