Cruising World editor Mark Pillsbury is in the British Virgin Islands for the 2012 Jeanneau Rendezvous. Here's his latest update:
"Tuesday afternoon blustery winds blew into Virgin Gorda's North Sound, in the British Virgin Islands, making a Sailing World-sponsored small boat regatta a challenging affair for the Jeanneau Rendezvous skippers and crews who took to the sea in Lasers and Hobie Waves.
Dave Robinson, crew on the Cruising World Jeanneau, emerged as the eventual Laser winner, finishing first in two races before retiring following a thorough dunking.
Hobie skippers proved an independent lot, with only one boat managing to cross both the start and finish lines.
The crews enjoyed a poolside dinner under moon-splashed skies at the Bitter End. Today the fleet splits for two days of sailing on their own before heading for a final get together at Norman Island on Friday.
Aboard the good ship Cruising World, anticipation builds for the full moon party Thursday. More on that later."
