Is Jimmy Buffett’s Magaritaville the best sailing song?
As the forum thread continues to grow with new posts regarding the best sailing movie, we here at CW got to wondering: What’s the best “sailing” song? There are actually quite a few, and not all are as obvious as the somewhat sappy “Sailing”, by one-hit wonder Christopher Cross, or as high pitched as “Come Sail Away” by Styx, or as overplayed as “Margaritaville” by you-know-who. Let’s hear it. Tell us what your favorite sailing song is and pair it with its corresponding and appropriate sailing situation. Be specific. How about “Bitches Brew” by Miles Davis while crossing the Gulf Stream at night? Or “Under Pressure” by Queen for docking in a stiff crosswind in front of a crowded marina bar?
