Boat of the Year 2022 Entry

Information about entering the Cruising World’s Boat of the Year 2022 awards.

Welcome to Cruising World’s 2022 Boat of the Year!

The editors of Cruising World are calling for entries for the 2022 Boat of the Year program. If you’re launching a new sailboat model into the North American market, we invite you to join the industry’s most respected testing and awards program. Boat of the Year inspections and sea trials will once again take place in October during and in the days after the United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland.

This year we are announcing two changes to the program. First, there will be a modest participation fee to help offset the rising costs of executing BOTY to its customary high standards. The new fee will be tiered based on boat size. The details can be found on the entry form that you can download below.

Second, we have added significant benefits for every entrant. Every boat that is entered will receive a write up that will be featured in one of Cruising World’s editorial enewsletters leading up to the announcement of the Boat of the Year winners. We will also be providing all BOTY participants with photography from the Annapolis event. In addition all participants will continue to receive the promotional banners and stickers to identify their boat(s) as BOTY nominees at United States Sailboat Show and any future shows and events.

Should you decide to not participate in Boat of the Year, or if have a new model that won’t be on display in Annapolis but will debut in North America, we would still like to know about it for Cruising World’s New Sailboat Showcase feature that’s included in the magazine’s October issue.

The entry form, and a liability form for Boat of the Year participants, must be returned to [email protected] by Friday, July 9, 2021. Or you can mail them to Boat of the Year, 4 Feke St., Newport, RI 02840.
