Charter Deals: June 12, 2007

Managing editor Elaine Lembo scopes out a handful of discounted bareboat catamaran charters. Online supplement to our July 2007 issue

As new bareboat catamarans arrive, companies are offering discount charters. Here are few deals we’ve discovered:

From July 1 to November 15, 2007, a crew of eight can book the Belize 43 from Barefoot Yacht Charters (www.barefootyachts.com) for 10 days and it costs less than $45 per person per day.

The Moorings (www.moorings.com) is running a summer special on its Moorings 4000, a 40-foot, four-cabin cat with two heads. Save 10 percent on bookings of five to 13 days or 20 percent on bookings of 14 days or longer. Members of The Moorings Captains Reward Program can also receive an additional 5 percent off. You must book by July 31, 2007, for charters during July, August, September, and October in Tortola, St. Martin, Canouan, St. Lucia, the Bahamas, Belize, and La Paz, Mexico.

New for Sunsail (www.sunsail.com) in 2007 are Robertson and Caine-built catamarans: the Sunsail 404, the Sunsail 434, and the Sunsail 464. Built to Sunsail specifications, the boats feature complete electronics, high-performance engines and hull designs, and large cockpits with outside dining areas.

If crewed vacations appeal more, Sunreef Yachts (www.sunreef-yachts.com) offers discounts aboard its fleet of luxury cats 62 feet and longer from July 15 to August 15, 2007. Discounts of from 5 percent to 15 percent apply to many itineraries; restrictions and other fees apply.

A new Fountaine Pajot Salina 48 will join TMM’s B.V.I. fleet after the U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland in October 2007. The boat will be displayed by TMM at the show. Find more details on the company’s website (www.sailtmm.com). The boat is available for purchase in TMM’s management program.
