Like Looking at Boats? We Need Consumer Reviewers for Boat of the Year

CW will add buyer's perspective to Boat of the Year contest.

Planning to head to the U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland, this fall? If the answer’s “yes,” perhaps you’d like to join the 2008 Cruising World Boat of the Year team and tell us what you think of some of this year’s BOTY contestants.

This fall, we plan to add a consumer point of view to our BOTY analysis, and we’re looking for cruising couples who’d be willing to visit a handful of boats and then share opinions with one of our editors. The show runs from October 4-8, 2007.

To qualify, you must have owned or co-owned at least two auxiliary-powered cruising sailboats and be willing to submit an essay of 500 to 1,000 words about at least one of them. (The best essays will be used in our Classic Plastic boat reviews in the coming year.) You’ll also need to tell us about your sailing experience and your cruising goals over the next few seasons.

Couples selected as consumer reviewers will receive complimentary passes to the show, a cool collection of CW swag, and an invitation to a cocktail reception with Cruising World editors and BOTY judges.

Interested? Send your essay and cruising summary to CWReckoningsFeedback@worldpub.net by August 15 and put “BOTY review” in the subject line of your e-mail.

See you in Annapolis!
