Plans Set for 2003 Boat of the Year Contest

The schedules for entering and testing new boats for Cruising World‘s Boat of the Year contest have been set, and a call for entries has been mailed to builders worldwide who’ll have new production boats for the North American market in 2003. Testing will take place in Annapolis, Maryland, October 10 through 19 at the U.S. Sailboat Show. Look for our new-boat preview in the October issue and to this site for a brief preview on each BOTY Nominee as it becomes available.

We’re assembling a top-notch judging panel again this year to evaluate the best new production boats.

Boat of the Year awards will be announced at Sail Expo in St. Petersburg, Florida, on November 22 and in Cruising World‘s January issue.

For those builders and designers with a new boat coming down the ways this year, we look forward to seeing your boat this fall. For those with one on the drawing board, we’ll look forward to sailing your creations in the years to come. See you this fall.
