The second presentation deals with how to navigate through the islands, customs and immigrations; what to bring; weather; communications; and safety and security. The last 20 minutes is a Q&A session, with comments from cruisers who are already there.

Webinar: The Offshore Voyage to The Caribbean

Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 6 p.m. EDST

What does it take to get your boat to the Caribbean, and once there, what to do with it.

We will cover the proper offshore yacht, safety gear, communications, where to get crew, watch standing, costs and options for boat-keeping once you arrive in the Islands. We’ll discuss the three rallies that make the offshore passage each fall: The NARC, which departs Newport, stops in Bermuda, and ends up in Sint Maarten; and the Salty Dawg Rally and the ARC Carib 1500, both of which depart the Chesapeake and head non-stop for the islands.
