Beneteau 43 : Mini Review
Cruising World 2008 New Boat Showcase

Sep 11, 2007
By Jeremy McGeary (More articles by this author)

Rounding out Beneteau's "next generation," the Beneteau 43 blends Berret-Racoupeau lines and exterior styling with interior decor by Nauta Yachts. A very complete outfit specification ensures the boat is ready to go with minimal post-commissioning input beyond stocking the fridge and freezer. The standard arrangement shows a forward cabin and an aft cabin with an L-shaped galley to port close by the companionway.

The hull profile shows a deep, elliptical spade rudder and a keel of sufficient area to balance the sail plan, for which standard issue is an in-mast furling mainsail and a 140-percent genoa. The twin-wheel steering arrangement allows freedom of movement through the cockpit to the swimming- and dinghy-friendly stern platform in the transom.
