Dean 441 : Mini Review
Cruising World 2008 New Boat Showcase

Sep 12, 2007
By Jeremy McGeary (More articles by this author)

South African catamaran designer Peter Dean bucks the trend toward uniformity in cruising cat design by giving the Dean 441 asymmetric hulls and a steeply raked mast. Both of these features enhance sailing performance, something that Dean Catamarans considers an important attribute in an offshore cruising boat. Other important factors in the Dean philosophy are seaworthiness and strength of construction, but these don't preclude the builder from providing luxury in the form of a handcrafted interior with all the accommodations usually associated with catamaran living.

South African sea wisdom and craftsmanship influence every aspect of the boat, and the builder welcomes input from customers who can choose among five interior arrangements and make adjustments to suit their own specific needs.
