Finngulf 46: Mini Review
Cruising World 2008 New Boat Showcase

Sep 12, 2007
By Jeremy McGeary (More articles by this author)
Finngulf leans more toward the performance end of the sailing spectrum than do some of its Scandinavian neighbors while still building a boat that meets the same seafarers' strictures—that it be rugged, good looking, and accommodating. A lofty rig and a plumb leading edge to the keel speak to the first and a stern drawn finer than the current European norm suggests the designer, Karl-Johan Strahlmann, considers balanced lines a worthwhile concession to boisterous northern weather.

Beneath the crisply defined deck is an inviting interior that appears crafted to compromise neither comfort nor performance. Between the master suite forward and two double cabins aft, and served by a galley that appears as functional at sea as at rest, six can live in ease.
