Beneteau 40 : Mini Review
Cruising World 2008 New Boat Showcase

Sep 11, 2007
By Jeremy McGeary (More articles by this author)

Since introducing its new line of cruising boats last fall with the 46 and 49, Beneteau has lost no time adding to its ranks. Last January, it revealed the Beneteau 40, designed by the same team of Berret/Racoupeau for the hull and deck and Nauta Yachts for the interior. Faithfully following its bigger siblings, the 40 has the same distinctive deck styling and, beneath it, the same light-colored fabrics and warm-toned Moabi woodwork with stainless-steel accents.

Twin steering wheels give the helmsman a clear view and access to the genoa-sheet winches while permitting free passage to the customary transom platform.
Belowdecks, a single head compartment with separate shower serves both the forward and aft staterooms while the galley, tucked aft to port in the two-cabin version, provides a secure workplace
