Salty Dawg Rally 2013

Sailing to the Caribbean from the U.S. East Coast in November can be a mixed bag of weather conditions, and 2013 was no different. Several boats that participated in the third annual Salty Dawg Rally experienced rough conditions in the Gulf Stream. The OSTAR is a northern crossing of the Atlantic, against prevailing winds, from Plymouth, United Kingdom to Newport, R.I.. The race is organized by the Royal Western Yacht Club in the UK and takes place once every four years. New Englander Jonathan Green finished the race in his Beneteau Oceanis 351, Jeroboam, in 22 days.
