Etap Yachting has incorporated many of the Award Winning design features of its 2003 BOTY Award Winner, the Etap 32s, into its newest model in the acclaimed ‘S’ series from Etap–the new Etap 37s–big sister to the 32s. ‘S’ stands loosely for ‘Sport’ in the European vernacular, as in Adventure, and the new Etap 37s represents the series nicely with its high performance double spreader 9/10 fractional rig by Selden with racer style end boom sheeting (with Etap’s exclusive removable traveler system) for precise control and ease of shorthanded sailing, adjustable back stay, gas charged rod kicker vang, Furlex roller furler with a generous overlapping Genoa, etc. This boat is built for sailors.

The Etap 37s, like all of the Yachts from Etap is certified “unsinkable” by Bureau Veritas. The Etap 37s, like all the boats from this Belgian yard, is built as a hull within a hull, each one of fiberglass in polyester resin laid up by hand. Closed-cell polyurethane foam is injected into the intervening space, providing, in addition to buoyancy, insulation against condensation. The Etap’s 37s is CE rated A for “all oceans, all conditions.”

The Etap 32s won its award for Innovation, and the new Etap 37s is keeping that tradition of innovation that has earned Etap Yachting many accolades in its 32-year boat building history. The Etap 37s incorporates the proven performance hull design of the 32s with low wetted surface, long waterline, canoe style underbody, flattish sheer, and a generous beam for space and stability but with a well drawn tapered stern for good downwind performance and tracking in following seas. The innovative, clean and functional deck design complete with surefooted TBS decking and ample walk-a-round space looks like it is all business but retains a sleek, aesthetic appeal. Ergonomic and well thought out teak seating areas in the cockpit area provide a touch of luxury without any maintenance concerns.

The innovative deck style allows for a forward facing panoramic window at the leading edge of the coach roof that really does wonders for the interior; making it appear much larger and roomier than what one would think in a boat this size. The interior is fitted out in a light, warm cherry wood and laminate with an innovative center island double sink and storage unit that is so practical and functional that you wonder why it isn’t seen on more boats.
