It just got a little easier to obtain copies of American Boat & Yacht standards. Its archived database is available in the Ship’s Store on its website (www.abycinc.org).
All standards from 1972 through 2001 are online now, and shortly, all standards through 2006 will also be posted. Anyone can access this information; you don’t have to be an ABYC member, although there is a fee charged.
All standards are in Adobe PDF format and can be downloaded immediately and purchased individually.
Previously, anyone requesting copies of standards were charged not only for each copy, but also for the research time it took an ABYC employee and the shipping costs of paper copies.
