ACR debuts AIS Transponder

Safety products manufacturer ACR Artex has broadened its lineup of electronic equipment with the debut of the AISLink CB1.

Safety products manufacturer ACR Artex has broadened its lineup of electronic equipment with the debut of the AISLink CB1, a Class B AIS transponder intended for the recreational boating market. Automatic Identification System transponders let you monitor boat traffic and alert others to the presence of your vessel by broadcasting vital information such as course, speed, MMSI number and boat name.

Once installed and connected to your chart plotter, it displays information on the plotter’s MFD or on a computer running navigation software. The AISLink CB1 has low power consumption, an internal GPS antenna and can run in silent mode, meaning it will receive information about other vessels without broadcasting your location. www.acrartex.com
