Alpha Global Transits Aleutian Trench

Solo circumnavigation enters dangerous territory

With his engine damaged and inoperative, French adventurer Adrian Flanagan is currently navigating the turbulent seas over the Aleutian Trench. Cognizant of the nasty conditions that tested previous adventurers Kenichi Horie and David Scott Cowper, Flanagan is taking extra care as he approaches the Aleutian Islands.

Flanagan is completing a corporate-sponsored east-west solo circumnavigation aboard his Trireme 38 Mk IV Barrabas. The 45-year-old’s chosen route will take him through the Bering Sea, through the Arctic Ocean, and back into the English Channel via the North Sea.
