Horizon Yacht Charters’ “New Adventure” course in Antigua offers top-notch sailing instruction in a relaxed setting. Www.horizonyachtcharters.com

Starting May 1, 2007, Horizon Yacht Charters will launch its seven-day “New Adventure” course in Antigua, in the Caribbean’s Leeward Islands. This class is designed for people who want the benefits that come from professional instruction without the pressure or structure involved in gaining any particular sailing qualification. The course is equally beneficial for the skipper whose skills may have gotten a bit rusty, or for the more experienced sailors on board who don’t want the responsibility of “playing teacher” to the rest of the crew.

HYC has enlisted the help of Royal Yachting Association instructor Frank Pearce to customize charters that will combine fun and learning for sailors of all skill levels. Course content includes coastal and inter-island navigation, rules of the road, mooring, anchoring, and safety at sea.

Charterers can choose between boats ranging in size from 40 to 50 feet, and discounts will apply if you book before October 31, 2007. To get the most you can out of your New Adventure charter, HYC recommends keeping your group size to a maximum of five.
