Florida Yacht Charters & Sales Inc., a charter company and boat dealership headquartered in southeast Florida, recently expanded with a base opening on the state’s west coast.

Situated at the Regatta Pointe Marina in Palmetto, the base is just a short hop from St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Tampa.

The new location complements the company’s operations in Miami’s South Beach; Key West, in the Florida Keys; historic Amelia Island, in northeast Florida; and Marsh Harbour, at Abaco Island in the Bahamas. Started in 1983 in Miami Beach, the company celebrates its 25th year in the charter and yacht-brokerage industry in 2008.
Besides serving as a dealer for Hunter Marine, the company is also the authorized dealer for a full line of Jeanneau sailboats, and it plans to offer new Jeanneau models from 32 to 54 feet for charter-fleet placement in its charter-ownership program.

“I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity to introduce Florida Yacht’s products and services to Florida’s west-coast boating community,” says Jan Henry, base general manager. “As a liveaboard boater myself for the past 12 years, I look forward to meeting local sailors and to providing excellent customer service. Our future plans also include offering American Sailing Association sailing-certification courses.”
