Cruising World‘s best-selling flotilla voyage of the year is a great way to learn about chartering and to try out a catamaran! In addition, this year we’re offering lots of extra fun: windsurfing and kiteboarding lessons, kayaks and Hobie Cats, and a dive rendezvous or guided tropical-waters fishing excursion.

Don’t delay! This year’s special host of our most popular annual adventure charter is CW deputy editor Elaine Lembo. Join Elaine and her partner, Rick Martell, a professional yacht captain, in the B.V.I. this December. Nestled between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the timing of the trip (December 3-11, 2010), is perfect, giving charterers steady trade winds, sunshine, awesome snorkeling, and great parties, all cooled by the refreshing tropical breezes of sailing’s world-class paradise.

Elaine and Rick spent several years as mate and captain on a private charter boat in the Caribbean, and these two have great tales to tell-from out-running hurricanes to operating their own business in “paradise.” They’ll suggest their favorite coves and beaches as you lounge aboard cats sailing through the fabled islands and turquoise waters of the British Virgins: Jost Van Dyke, Cooper and Norman islands, Virgin Gorda, and the remote and spectacular Anegada. It’s no-worries sailing with mostly easy eyeball navigation.

The trip includes a pro skipper on each boat on Day One to teach about cat sailing; a lead boat with a flotilla skipper; CW‘s partners, brokers Carol and Peter King, to handle your chartering needs; special cocktail parties and dinners; partial provisions; and seven nights on roomy Catamaran Company yachts. Skipper your own, or take a full-time captain. Also, if you’re coming without your own charter party, we put great groups of like-minded folks together to fill a boat. And singles are welcome.
