Zhik has unveiled its newest additions to the performance sailing apparel lineup: the Daybreaker Midlayer Jacket and Salopette. Designed for offshore and coastal sailors who face cold conditions, the range delivers warmth, mobility, and sustainability without excess bulk.

The two-layer construction pairs a wind-resistant face with a fluorine-free water-resistant finish, while the internals are filled with REPREVE® recycled insulation. Created from post-consumer plastic bottles and pre-consumer waste, the insulation offers reliable warmth that rebounds from compression to extend longevity.

The Daybreaker range is purpose-built for layering, integrating seamlessly with Zhik’s OFS offshore shells and CST coastal gear. A streamlined cut and elasticated zones at the shoulders, waist, underarms, and cuffs prevent interference with foul-weather layers and boots. Reinforced knees and seat increase durability, while a two-way zip allows fast transitions and easy access to base layers. Pockets and a mid-height collar provide practical storage and protection.

“Sailors need insulating layers that provide warmth but don’t add unnecessary bulk,” said Johnny Rodgers, Zhik Head of Marketing and Partnerships. “The Daybreaker range was designed for exactly this, combining a streamlined fit with functional features that seamlessly integrate with other gear. The design also aligns with our sustainability goals by using environmentally friendly materials.”
