Life is Short! Sail on the Longest Day of the Year

Need a reason to quit work early on Friday June 21? The second annual Summer Sailstice is the perfect excuse. “The concept is simple,” said John Arndt, event coordinator. “Get out early. Meet friends and family for sailing on the Solstice. No rules, no fees, and no excuses not to go out and have fun.” Join others for a raft-up, a sailing destination ,or party on the water to celebrate the longest evening of the year, and perhaps extend the sail for the entire weekend.

Last year’s event saw international participation. “The Summer Sailstice is the break between the end of school and the summer of sailing ahead,” Arndt added. “The simplicity of the Sailstice allows people to celebrate anywhere, any time, and anyway they the want.”

Register, find the gathering nearest you, and organize a local raft-up by visiting the Summer Sailstice website, www.summersailstice.com. All registered have a chance to win prizes. Share photos and Sailstice stories at the same address.
