Jeanneau 64: Sneak Peek at a Flagship

It will be a while before the first Jeanneau 64 makes its way to the States, but in the meantime, a new video gives a hint at what's to come.

Just about at year ago at the boat show in Dusseldorf, Germany, Erik Stromberg, Jeanneau’s sailboat marketing director, led me and a companion into an office under the company’s display of sailboats for a sneak peek at the new project he and his design team were working on with designers Phillipe Briand and Andrew Winch.

Erik was like a kid showing off the first gizmo built from the proverbial Erector Set on Christmas morning as he showed us around the scale model and talked about the Jeanneau 64, which was to be a semi-custom, luxurious cruiser.

It was one cool looking boat.

This winter, if all goes well, I’ll get a chance to step aboard the real thing. And by all reports, the new Jeanneau flagship is a real beaut. I got a glimpse of what’s to come in this video made by Jeanneau America’s Paul Fenn. Can’t wait to see the real deal.
