BoatU.S. Clean-Water Grants Are Now Available

The BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety & Clean Water is again offering environmental grants of up to $2,000 to local and non-profit organizations to educate boat owners and promote hands-on efforts aimed at cleaning up our waterways.

Over the past three years the BoatU.S. Foundation’s Clean Water Grant program has funded 25 projects nationwide including poster and brochure campaigns, coastal clean-ups, and fuel spill prevention workshops. “We’re looking for new ways to promote local environmental stewardship, encourage boaters to reduce their impact on the environment while enjoying their pastime and teach boaters and anglers about preventing pollution before it starts,” said Vanessa Pert, Grant Administrator for the BoatU.S. Foundation.

Grant applications are available online at www.BoatUS.com/cleanwater/grants or by calling Vanessa Pert at 410-897-0949 or e-mailing VPert@BoatUS.com. February 1, 2002 is the postmark and e-mail deadline for applications.
