2013 new boat showcase

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 41DS

Even more than the sloping coachroof of this deck-saloon offering that provides oodles of natural light below, this collaboration between Philippe Briand (hull, deck, and rig) and Franck Darnet (interior) is defined by the huge owners cabin aft, a grand space indeed that one might expect to find on a much larger boat. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 41DS is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Isara 50

Built in Taiwan at the Ta Yang yard, the longtime builder of Tayana Yachts, the new Isara line of “semicustom luxury catamarans” is a fresh addition to the bustling multihull scene. The 50 is spacious and extremely stylish; owners play a major role in determining layouts and accoutrements. A 45 is coming soon. The Isara 50 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Hunter 40

In celebration of its upcoming 40th anniversary, Hunter Marine, now Marlow-Hunter, has introduced its 65th model, complete with a fold-down transom, dual helm stations, a fully chined hull, and a sloping raised coachroof with large windows that supply lots of natural light below. The Hunter 40 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Hallberg-Rassy 412

Just over 41 feet LOA, this fresh Germán Frers creation from the renowned Swedish builder is the largest aft-cockpit H-R ever constructed. Helia 44

Spacious and bathed in natural light from the coachroof and cockpit skylights and the saloon’s large wraparound windows, Fountaine Pajot‘s inventive 44-foot cat also includes such novel features as built-in solar panels, a three-person raised helm station, and davits that hold dinghies, surfboards, and kayaks. The Helia 44 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Hanse 575

Stability and speed were two of the attributes specified by Hanse when they asked the Judel/Vrolijk design team to produce their new 57-footer, and they responded with a beamy, voluminous yacht with loads of storage and countless interesting features. Our favorite? The dinghy “garage” for a jet-powered tender. The Hanse 575 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Hanse 495

Among the many, many choices that an owner of Hanse‘s new 495 will have to make is the layout below, which the company refers to as its “individual cabin concept.” The standard boat has the terrific owners cabin in the bow, but you can also choose to have the main stateroom aft. A quartet of cabins is a third option. The Hanse 495 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Hanse 415

German engineering is on display throughout this relatively light but strong 41-footer, which is crafted with a balsa core and vinylester resin above the waterline and a solid glass laminate below. Several different accommodations plans are available to suit the needs of either a cruising couple or a growing family. The Hanse 415 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.
